“Working as a Speech Language Pathologist for over 20 years, I began my career working in a variety of pediatric settings in NYC. There I gained extensive experience working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, apraxia of speech and language based learning disorders. I also provided home-based therapy and evaluations for Early Intervention. I opened my own private practice in 1999, providing services for children with numerous developmental delays, motor speech disorders and specializing in treating children with oral-motor speech and feeding disorders.

Following the birth of my first child, I moved to NJ and worked with many wonderful therapists throughout NJ. I continue to service many young children in their homes, both privately and through EI, and currently evaluate and treat children at The Therapy Garage.

I am trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) and Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson’s muscle based (oral motor) speech therapy programs. I have attended and continue to attend conferences, training and workshops on the subject of Apraxia of Speech, Tongue Thrust, Oral Motor Dysfunction with leaders in the field including: Nancy Kaufman, Edythe Strand, Pamella Marshalla, Robyn Merkel-Walsh. Other areas of specialty include feeding disorders, oral motor weakness/dysfunction, articulation remediation and  tongue thrust. “

Our speech language pathologists are trained to evaluate and address a wide variety of communication impairments including: early language/communication delays, articulation, phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, motor speech disorders (apraxia, dysarthria), oral-motor/feeding issues and social/communication issues associated with autism spectrum disorders.

We offer full comprehensive speech-language evaluations.  Treatment plans are devised to meet the goals of the child and family.  Caregivers will learn new ways to implement and carryover skills within the home.

"Since 2015, I have worked full-time in a private special education school, where I provide therapy to students with diagnoses such as autism, global developmental delay, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and various genetic diseases and disorders. I also work privately with children grades K-5 to improve articulation, comprehension, reading skills, and overall communication. I have additional training in public education and pediatric hospital settings. No matter the setting, I work as a team with children’s’ families and any other therapists. My collaborative approach to therapy ensures that my clients are working on skills that will make a positive impact and improve communication in their daily lives.

I attend courses throughout the year to stay updated on techniques that serve my clients in therapy. I am trained in Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) and Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention. I have attended training courses in the areas of feeding, oral motor, sign language, play and language skills for children with autism, caregiver education, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and more.

I love evaluating and treating children of all ages and abilities at The Therapy Garage. Making therapy fun AND functional helps my clients achieve their goals!"

“I have been working as a speech-language pathologist since 2014 in a variety of private special education schools.  I began my career working with students diagnosed with behavioral disorders such as emotionally disturbed, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder, as well as students diagnosed with autism, cognitive delays and/or communication impairments.  I have recently gained experience working with students with multiple disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, brain injury, Down Syndrome, and genetic disorders.   Many of my current students use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and I often carryover this knowledge to emphasize a total communication approach during therapy sessions.

I recognize the importance of meeting each client’s individual needs, collaborating with families, and creating a comfortable environment to encourage language development.  I enjoy developing fun and practical lessons for my clients to encourage participation and excitement about attending speech therapy.  I am PROMPT trained, and often incorporate this tactile-kinesthetic approach to speech sound production.  Additional trainings I have attended include Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, as well as multiple trainings for specific AAC language systems (eg. PODD, LAMP).

I currently reside in Chatham, NJ where I am lucky enough to live close to my nephew and three nieces.

At The Therapy Garage, I am able to evaluate and treat a variety of speech and language skills including articulation, expressive language, receptive language, and pragmatics.  Each week, I look forward to working with children at the Therapy Garage to develop the skills necessary to communicate effectively in their environment.”
