"I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (B.C.B.A.) with a Masters Degree in Special Education and a graduate certificate in Behavioral Studies in Autism.  I have worked with children as a teacher for over 15 years in general education and in special education settings.  For 10 of those years I have served as a teacher for students with Autism delivering ABA services, specifically Verbal Behavior and Discrete Trial Training.  For the last 5 years I have been working as an B.C.B.A. supervising home services, delivering parent training services, social skill programs and consulting in schools.  I have experience assessing for relevant skills and creating programs using tools such as the ABBLS-R, VB-MAPP, AFLS and Vineland 3.

Currently, I create and supervise in-home ABA based programming focusing on skill acquisition and socially relevant skill instruction.  I consult in schools focusing on socially appropriate behaviors, data driven instruction and ABA programming.  I train and consult with teachers using evidence based instruction.  I have been at The Therapy Garage since 2018 and  I provide and supervise ABA services as well as offer Social Skills groups."

Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) focuses on improving specific behaviors such as social skills or adaptive learning skills like hygiene or feeding.  ABA therapy is often practiced with individuals diagnosed with autism to improve social interactions, learn new skills, and maintain positive behaviors. ABA also helps transfer skills and behavior from one setting to another such as from home to the community.  ABA services can be provided in the home or clinic.

Together, you and your ABA therapist, you will:

  • Determine behaviors that should be addressed
  • Set goals
  • Monitor progress
  • Modify the intervention plan as required
